FCP close all gapsI’ve been in the situation a few times in Final Cut Pro where there a number of gaps in my timeline that I want to close.  There is the ‘Close Gap’ feature, but you have to select the gap first, which makes the process quite tedious for multiple gaps.  One way I have found to speed up this process is to paste a clip into the end of video track 2,  then select the gap before that on track 2 and press Shift Delete until all the gaps have been closed.  This is the best solution I have found for this situation but If you have a better way please share with everyone by posting a comment.

I cannot thank you enough. If we were in a bar I would be buying you beers all night.

  2. Or a slight modification I use when the gaps don’t start from the beginning of the timeline. Place a clip (on the track above) before and after the area with the gaps and select the gap between them. Then proceed the same.

  3. Thank you, this is a very useful tip. A life saver!

I must thank you from the bottom of my heart. Manual gap removal in a long timeline is like picking stones out of rice, but much less satisfying.
